The State Certification and Accreditation Administration issued a notice recently, announcing the revised "Safety Glass Products for the Implementation of Compulsory Certification for Safety Glass Products", which clarified the mandatory certification requirements for automotive safety glass products.
According to reports, due to the original national standards GB9656 "Automotive Safety Glass"-1996 and GB9963 "Tempered Glass"-1998, they have been respectively adopted by the new standards GB9656 "Automotive Safety Glass"-2003 and GB15763.2-2005 Part 2: Tempered Glass. In order to standardize the compulsory certification of safety glass products, the State Certification and Accreditation Administration has recently revised the "Implementation Rules for Safety Glass Compulsory Certification Safety Glass Products". The revised implementation rules are "Safety Glass Products Compulsory Certification Implementation Rules Safety Glass Products" (CNCA-04C-028: 2006), which has been implemented since July 12 this year.
The new rules clarify the mandatory certification requirements for products such as tempered glass for automotive windshields, insulating glass for automotive windshields, automotive plastic glass composite materials, etc., the division of product units, and requirements for operational inspections in factory quality assurance capabilities. Adjustments have also been made.
The announcement pointed out that, for new glass products for compulsory certification, the new rules will be implemented from the date of announcement. For glass products that have obtained a compulsory product certification certificate before the announcement date, the certification certificate issued by a designated certification body in accordance with the requirements of this rule shall be obtained within 18 months from the date of the amendment of the rule, otherwise the original certification certificate will automatically expire.
